The IGA Romeo's Food Hall in Sydney CBDIGA’s latest store opening is a $2m outlet in the heart of Sydney’s CBD at the MLC Centre in Martin Place.

The 1000sqm boutique supermarket IGA Romeo’s Food Hall is part of the portfolio of independent store owner Joseph Romeo.

Romeo said the food hall will include premium features such as a cheese bar with a resident connoisseur and a premium meat and fish section.

“We are confident the most discerning of foodies will find everything they need at our supermarket,” Romeo said.

Ian Morrice, chief executive of IGA parent company Metcash, said this business epitomises the value independent retailers can deliver through a tailored offering.

“The Romeo Group has achieved great success in the South Australian and New South Wales markets and with their industry knowledge, competitive prices and unique offering we expect them to replicate this in Sydney’s CBD.”

The new supermarket will complement a range of new food court tenants at the MLC Centre, including Neil Perry’s Burger Project, Schnitz and Bun Me.
