Healthier alternatives on the menu at McDonald’s

McDonald’s has launched a new Real Choices salads and McWraps range, which comprises two salads and five wraps, just in time for summer

The warm chicken and crispy noodle salads contain lettuce, shredded carrot, red cabbage, red onion, cucumber and tomatoes.

Customers can choose from either grilled or crispy chicken, and the crispy noodle salad comes with a sweet sesame dressing meanwhile the warm chicken salad is accompanied by Italian, balsamic or zesty Portuguese dressings.

Each of the salad combinations are low in saturated fat and contain between five and eight grams of fibre per serving.

The warm chicken salad with grilled chicken and balsamic dressing is the healthiest option, and is said to contain one gram of saturated fat per serving.

The wraps range comprises:

  • Chicken and aioli
  • Chicken and spicy mayo
  • Chicken and honey soy with crispy noodles

The aioli and honey soy varieties are served with garlic mayo and as its name suggests, the spicy mayo wrap has a fiery kick.

Breakfast options are also available, and include a bacon, egg and tomato wrap, as well as the Big Brekkie McWrap, which is filled with rasher bacon, egg, a sausage patty and southern BBQ sauce.
