Fasta Pasta ditches family-friendly tag

In a bid to become more corporate, Italian food franchise Fasta Pasta has developed a new logo, employed a new chief financial officer and franchising expert, and it will relocate its head office.

The company has appointed a new chief financial officer and information technology manager, and it has scooped up Nicole Milne, a franchising expert who has previously worked with brands including McDonald’s Australia, Wendy’s and Bakers Delight.

The company’s old logo – which featured a bowl of spaghetti with angel wings enclosed in a brightly coloured red circle, has been replaced by a more sophisticated logo that features an illustration of spaghetti and a more demure shade of red.

The South Australian based franchise will also move its head office from the Adelaide suburb of Glynde to Norwood, reports The Advertiser.

Frank Taddeo, CEO, Fasta Pasta said the company’s move from family-friendly to corporate reflects its desire to focus on all aspects of the business, not just the product.

“Basically it was more of a family-run business; it wasn’t a corporate structure. Now that we are growing our business at multiple levels, you have to be able to measure to make decisions.

“We weren’t good at understanding the financial side of things. Our focus has always been the product; now we are also getting the back-end of the business up to be able to match our plans for the future,” he said.

The company’s ownership structure will remain the same.

Taddeo and partners Nino Pollina and Jim Rinaldi will continue to direct the company, while it’s founders – George Belperio, Walter Ventura, Jane Hanna, Bruno Donato and Mary Donato will remain shareholders.

Fasta Pasta will continue to focus on the Australian market, and it aims to add another 62 restaurants to its already existing sites in the next five years, bringing its total number of restaurants to 100.
