Warren Billet, the former regional development manager at Retail Food Group (RFG) has recently started consulting for Pacific Retail, the umbrella company of Wasabi Warriors, Go Sushi and Kick! Juice Bars.
Upon departing RFG at Easter, Billet established his own consulting business, Retail Growth, and works with a number of leading brands including Coffee Guru and Westpac.
In his role as consultant to Pacific Retail, Billet will continue to grow all three of the company’s brands across Australia by identifying suitable locations for new sites.
The company aims to increase its network from 37 to 55 stores before the next financial year.
Billet was employed by RFG, the company behind brands including Pizza Capers, Brumby’s Bakery, Donut King and Michel’s Patisserie for a total of seven years.
During this time he multiplied the presence of a number of the company’s brands, increasing his territory from 110 to more than 600 stores.
In other news, Wasabi Warriors has opened its second Sydney store at Westfield Liverpool.
Headed by new franchisees Gary and Cindy Chung, the store offers a range of Japanese-style food items including fresh sushi rolls, gyozas and dragon bites.
Gary excitedly said their first day in business was a successful one. “It was great! There were so many people excited to try our sushi, especially our chicken and salmon teriyaki hot boxes. We’re already starting to get regulars!”
Gary is familiar with the franchised food industry, having previously worked at KFC. After 15 years with the restaurant chain Gary decided it was time for a change, and so he entered a new phase of his franchise journey with Wasabi Warriors.
Wasabi Warriors is on the lookout for additional franchises to operate stores across Australia. To find out more, visit the Wasabi Warriors website.
