The coffee franchise with a difference, Muzz Buzz, has just opened the first of five more drive-through outlets in the Perth area. A site at Rockingham launched last week with another franchise set to open at Hamilton Hill next week, and in May sites at Gosnells and Wembley.

Geelong will get its first site in May with a second outlet opening mid-winter.

General manager Chris Hanlon told Franchising magazine that business is growing with a rising customer count and a increased average transaction store on store.

“We’re in double digit growth, which is quite extraordinary. I think the brand is just getting stronger and people won’t deny themselves a little luxury.

“We’re not affected by the downturn in shopping centres,” he added.

The company, which typically constructs outlets in car parks near arterial road intersections, has been targeting young mums on the school run. “That’s been quite significant,” said Hanlon.

Plans are for the brand to launch in Queensland next year; eighteen months ago a South African master franchise was established and the first outlet will open soon.
