The QLD/NT Franchising Awards were held at the Brisbane Marriot on 21 August, with some of Australia’s biggest names in franchising in attendance, including Bakers Delight, The Coffee Club, ANZ and Price Attack.

The Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year Award went to Carolyn and David McManus, who own and operate three Coffee Club franchises in Queensland. They are also in the process of opening their fourth store.

In the last financial year, Carolyn and David were able to increase their net profit by over 50 per cent, despite the economic downturn. They also assist other Coffee Club franchisees with the development of their businesses.

Jo Patterson, franchisee of Bakers Delight, took out the Franchisee Community Service Award. Leveraging the success of the brand’s connection with the Breast Cancer Network of Australia, Patterson workes closely with the local Breast Screen unit in Mackay. The franchise also participates in a local school ‘brekkie’ club, supports under-privileged children and makes an annual contribution to the special children’s Christmas party.

Howards Storage World, Price Attack and Expense Reduction Analysts also had successful franchises at this year’s awards.
