Bedshed stores receive new IT functionality

Bedshed has installed internet touch screen kiosks in two of its stores, and more are set to follow suit.

The kiosks, which are designed to enhance the customer experience, allow customers to view product catalogues, create virtual wish lists and develop customised PDF brochures.

They have already been installed in the company’s Joondalup store in Perth as well as its Moorabbin, Melbourne store.

Moorabbin store franchisee Graham Gibson has been with the franchise for nine years, and he expects customers will embrace the new kiosks with open arms.

“It’s exciting to be the first to market. No other retailer has pushed the in-store ecommerce boundaries like Bedshed has,” he said.

Gavin Culmsee, CEO, Bedshed said that based on performances in these two stores, one in 10 customers are using the new kiosks.

“We’ve already seen a handful of customers create PDF brochures, emailing them from the in-store kiosk to home for a post-shopping collaborative discussion and decision with their family,” he said.

“We expect more and more of our customers to take advantage of this technology as they begin to understand how it can improve their shopping experience.”

He said the kiosks will also allow the company to communicate with it’s existing customers on an ongoing basis.

“From a business perspective the data will enable us to market our business to customers via subsequent direct mail activity,”

The kiosks will be available to all franchisees in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, it just depends if they want to install them or not.
