Beacon Lighting looks to sales and profit growth for FY2016. Image: insideretail.com.auThe Beacon Lighting Group is predicting a boost to its earnings for FY2016. It’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization could be up between nearly $1m and $2m on the previous corresponding period. It expects the EBITDA to reach up to $29.2m.

The lighting retailer also announced it expects sales and net profit after tax (NPAT) for FY2016 to exceed the previous year’s NPAT.

The retail franchise group recorded positive results in the first half of the year and according to Inside Retail has continued its solid figures in the current period. However sales in the past 10 weeks have not met the expectations of management.

The sales results have been attributed to weak consumer confidence, the timing of the Easter break, clearance activity among competitors and less advertising exposure.
