Pizza and an Olympic legend were brought together recently when the Torrensville Crust Gourmet Pizza outlet hosted a visit from swimmer Libby Trickett.

Crust Gourmet Pizza franchisee Mark Hofmeyer received the visit from the champion freestyler after claiming the South Australian prize in the Telstra ‘Go For Business Gold’ competition, a nationwide search to find outstanding motivators among two million of the country’s small to medium-sized businesses.

Entrants had to show how they excelled at motivating staff, themselves or their customers with finalists from across the nation gathering for a business master class in Sydney.

As a result of  Mark Hofmeyer’s success during the finals campaign, he won a visit to his business from Trickett, who won her fourth Olympic gold medal at the London Games as part of the Australian women’s 4 X 100 relay team.

Hofmeyer used the occasion to bring Student Representative Council members from local high schools together to hear the famous Olympian talk about her personal motivations.

“Our community’s young leaders need inspiring figures in their lives and we thought the chance to hear from Libby was a fantastic opportunity that needed to be shared,” he said.

Trickett said the Olympics was an unforgettable experience.

“Inspiring people by sharing that experience at an event like the one that Crust Pizza Torrensville arranged was a pleasure,” she said.
