7-Eleven’s Slurpee hunts for young designers

7-Eleven’s Slurpee brand is calling on budding designers to take part in this year’s Slurpee Tee design competition.

Established to encourage creativity among young Australians, Slurpee Tee – the Human Canvas urges young designers to create a screen print t-shirt inspired by their Slurpee experiences.

Slurpee’s a playful and cheeky brand that celebrates the irreverence of youth, said Slurpee brand manager, Rebecca Mountstephen. We’re working in association with MTV to challenge all young Australians to express their experiences with Slurpee once more. Whatever Slurpee means to you, capture it in your t-shirt design and let us see it.

Judges will select 26 designs to be displayed in a public exhibition at MTV’s gallery space in Sydney. They will select six finalist design submissions, which will be posted online. Voting will then be open to the public.

The winning designer will be rewarded with a one week internship at MTV’s creative department, plus a $5,000 cash prize and will also see their winning design produced on limited edition Slurpee merchandise, available at 7-Eleven franchises in January and February, 2010.
