7-Eleven campaign takes a swipe at coffee snobs

7-Eleven has coffee snobbery in its sights with its latest ad campaign to promote the convenience chain’s $1 coffee offer.

The video, titled No Coffee Snobs at 7-Eleven, takes a light-hearted look to the different experience of purchasing a coffee from a barista with attitude and the chain’s easy going approach to its bargain-priced cup of coffee.

The original concept was the idea of 7-Eleven boss, Warren Wilmot, reports B&T.

A statement from 7-Eleven said “We’ve all had run-ins with baristas with more attitude than coffee-making skills so we wanted to have a look at the contrast in customer experience. 7-Eleven didn’t want to over-complicate it, or spin yarns that were a bit over the top or unbelievable, bud did want to draw a contrast.

“The core message is freshly ground beans in your $1 coffee at 7-Eleven.”

The company hopes the YouTube video will gain 500,000 views in the next month.
