5-star hair and beauty franchises revealed

Everyone loves a 5-star rating, and for two hair and beauty businesses, it is the sign of strong business performance.

Just Cuts has been recognised as a very high performing brand through the Australian Franchise Rating Scale. The hairdressing chain showed it has a high level of transparency in the system, and strong franchise performance.

Just Cuts CEO, Amber Manning, said “Just Cuts is incredibly proud of our proven system, our processes and our incredible people.”

Amber said the rating serves to reinforce the experience of customers and franchisees.

“Just Cuts represents a trusted Australian brand dedicated to delivering small business success through our constantly evolving model,” she said.

“Through our focus on technology, collaboration and transparency, we remain committed to simplifying small business ownership so that you don’t actually need to be a hairdresser to open your very own Just Cuts salon.”

Business intelligence and information advisory firm FRANdata manages the ratings process which reviews a business across seven key categories. FRANdata Australia CEO Darryn McAuliffe said “The review evidenced a long established and very successful franchise model across all categories measured.

“Independent external surveys showed that Just Cuts’ franchisees feel satisfied and very well supported by the franchisor. There was also a very high continuity rate across the network,” he said.

Silk Laser Clinics also scooped a top rating

Silk Laser Clinics joined the stellar listings earlier this year. It became not just the first hair and beauty brand to be recognised on the scale but the first 5-star hair and beauty franchise.

Josh Lawson, head of network growth at Silk Laser Clinics, said the rating shows the chain operates best practice.

“It also provides prospective franchise partners with an independent review of the system.

“The culmination of investment back into our groups systems and technology, while adopting a mindset of franchise partner health with our decision making, has held us in good stead for this review,” he said.

“We continue to invest in technologies that support our network of clinics as well as have an approach of continual training both at a clinic and head office level.”

Josh said Silk has a strong focus on the profitability of franchisees, and maintaining high standards.

Darryn McAuliffe said the Australian Franchise Rating review showed a successful franchise model.

“As expected, the strong trading performance across the network is delivering solid financial outcomes for individual franchisees.”

He said there is a strong compliance culture, backed up by a highly disciplined approach to training and ongoing support.
