Franchise Business posed some questions to Coffeetreat managing director, Chelsea Hayward.
How long has the business been trading, and how long franchising?
We began trading in 2016, started franchise development work in 2024 and expect the first franchise sale very soon.
What does it cost to buy a franchise?
A new shop will cost between $170,000 and $195,000 subject to site condition, location and size.
What is the core area of your company’s business?
Delicious coffee – all kinds, hot and cold. Plus sandwiches and snacks.
Who is a typical customer and do you have any plans to reach a different demographic?
The great thing about coffee and simple food and snacks is everyone is a potential customer!
What makes your brand stand out from the competition?
Our ‘hole in the wall’ model enables strong sales from a low cost base with low rent, and low wages. This gives franchise owners a better return on their investment and time.
Why is this a good business for a franchisee to buy into?
Coffeetreat is a highly successful, low purchase price business with and low operating costs.
Tell us about the support that you will provide franchisees
We offer comprehensive personalised training backed by our enormous online training video range and tools. Shop operations are simple, supported by our customer app.
How many hours a week does a franchisee typically work?
We will expect our franchise owners to work full time in and on their business.
What drives your growth strategy?
The keys to growth are the right franchisee for the market, the right location at the right rent, and friendly well-trained staff.
What are your expansion plans for the next five years?
Coffeetreat has just launched its franchise program. We will open shops only wherever and whenever the potential franchise owner and location stack up. We would expect to be operating in all states within five years under carefully chosen master franchisees.
