Home renovation and extension company Smith & Sons has added three more franchises in a bid to meet growing demand in Queensland.
The new franchises opened in Redcliffe, Ascot and Noosa over February and March.
Queensland master franchisee Steven Nousala said the business plan is based on having 50 Smith & Sons franchises in the state within the next five years.
“The areas currently being targeted in the first half of 2013 are in the south east corner of Queensland due to the concentration on both customers and builders,” he said.
Nousala said the new franchises align with this target.
The three new franchisees are qualified and experienced builders.
“They were looking for something to assist them to grow and be more successful in what is a tough industry at the moment,” Nousala said.
The expansion plans have been in the offing since the beginning of the year.
The company currently has 15 offices in Queensland and plans to have 20 by the end of the year.
It also plans to expand into regional areas like Cairns and far north Queensland in the second half of 2013.
“Our goal is to be a recognisable household name synonymous with quality renovations and extension,” Nousala said.
