Sandwich Chefs great business

Sandwich Chefs is a recipe for a great business

Are you ready to align your entrepreneurial spirit and ambition with a well-established food franchise that encourages independence? Sandwich Chefs franchisees care about running a successful business, and with the help of an experienced franchise team behind them, can achieve their aspirations.

Cam Noble, operations and development at Sandwich Chefs, says “Joining the business, you are not only joining a 20 year strong franchise model, you are joining a family of like-minded business owners.

“Our brand grows through the success of our franchisees, and we have franchisees that have been on the ‘Sandwich Chefs’ journey for 10+ years.”

In fact, one franchisee has been in the business for 14 years. Wendy loves the brand so much she has opened eight stores.

That’s a model that Sandwich Chefs encourages – franchisees excelling at store level so they can buy a second, third, even eighth, store. As multi-site owners, franchisees take a big picture perspective of their business which allows them to grow even further.

And that’s the attitude the franchisor looks for in new franchisees, a willingness to push themselves as far as they can go.

Sandwich Chefs delivers first class support

Of course, as franchisees they are supported behind the scenes on their journey to success.

Sandwich Chefs ensures franchisees are well set for the demands of the business with an extensive six-week training program.

Franchisees spend the first month in store operations, across three stores in different environments. They then step up to act as store managers for a fortnight. Here they learn the admin, rostering, and financial skills that will keep their businesses on track.

When it comes to setting up their first store, franchisees have another asset on hand. Sandwich Chefs has harnessed their superstar franchisee Wendy’s experience and she helps franchisees across the country open their first outlet.

“With her experience it doubles down on what we provide for new franchisees, and they relate a lot more to other franchisees,” says Cam.

He says franchisees establish really strong relationships with other business owners in the group.

It’s a ready-made network of fellow-franchisees who are there to support and inspire each other to achieve their personal goals.

“That goes hand-in-hand with our franchising community. At Sandwich Chefs the franchisees all encourage each other,” says Cam.

Franchisees also tap into the knowledge and experience of the head office team. And the operations and marketing team are now a lot more visible since the pandemic – they’ve ditched the office and work out of stores.

“Covid inspired that, and we found that franchisees are more engaged and happy to see us, now we are in store a lot more,” says Cam.

“I believe we go above and beyond in terms of support. We want to create the best customer experience.”

That means the team can step up to reset customer service, or a sandwich-making process, to meet brand standards.

A good recipe for a great business

High quality fresh food is a foundation stone for Sandwich Chefs, from fresh bread to pork and beef slow-cooked for 14 hours overnight.

“We are selling a premium product, so we want to be sure we reflect that in our food quality, and how we prepare and serve it,” says Cam.

“Service is the biggest driver in terms of growing a store. Pairing a great product with really great service is a good recipe for a great business.”

He says an ideal Sandwich Chefs franchisee is a people-person who is keen to build an independent, strong business within a stable framework.

“For franchisees, it’s about having a brand that has been operating for 30+ years. It’s about being in a network that’s proven many times, and with other franchisees who are just as business-minded, entrepreneurial and driven.”
