Presse Caf_, the Canadian caf_ franchise with locations in seven countries including France, Cyrpus and of course Canada, has just signed its first Australian franchisee.

The brand currently has eight outlets in Australia, however it is looking to expand its reach and has appointed Halim Hachem as its master franchise holder in Australia.

It is looking for franchisees to invest in outlets in the Sydney and Parramatta CBD’s as well as the northern, eastern and western regions of the city.

Speaking to QSR Media, Charlie Hachem, operations manager, Presse Caf_ said the brand’s expansion strategy is very much tied in with the local community.

“We want to develop the concept locally and organically. We strongly believe that we must be able to build the brand with a local approach.

“The beauty of the Presse Caf_ concept is that the model is flexible and adapts to the local market. Our development plan evolves with the people we meet,” he said.

Hachem explained the company recruits franchisees that exhibit particular qualities. “We pair with passionate business people, who want to bring the greatest Presse Caf_ experience to their communities.”

The Presse Caf_ philosophy is “breathe, eat, drink” and as such it specialises in gourmet sandwich offerings, baked goods and freshly made coffee.

The brand’s signature “presswiches” include combinations such as:

  • Grilled vegetables and provolone
  • Tahini chicken
  • Saut_ed mushrooms and goat cheese
  • Prosciutto and bocconcini

More classic style sandwiches with fillings such as chicken, sweet peppers and Dijon, as well as ham and cheese are also available.

Sweet items include freshly baked muffins, pure butter, almond and chocolate croissants, apple turnovers, biscotti and homemade pies.

According to Presse Caf_’s Australian website, a franchise costs between $200,000 and $500,000 with a minimum investment of 40-60 percent of the project’s cost, and a franchise fee of $45,000.
