Pie Face is looking to increase its presence in the global market, and its sights are firmly set on India and Indonesia, as well as the UK, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain.
The company said discussions regarding the opening of Pie Face outlets in India and Indonesia have begun.
Wayne Homschek, co-founder, Pie Face said he is currently in conversation with a number of other countries regarding the potential for new outlets, reports InsideRetail.
“We are also in discussions with a couple of major groups in the Gulf Cooperation Council regarding UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, and we are very close on a joint venture in the UK.”
He said the company’s New Zealand partners, Julian Field and Jared Palmer, are planning to open their first Pie Face outlet by the mid-2013.
Pie Face reached an agreement with its New Zealand partners in September last year, a move that will see them open at least 62 new stores within the next 10 years.
Homschek said that while global expansion is high on the agenda, Australia, which currently has 78 outlets, will continue to be an important market for the brand.
“The US is increasingly important and other markets will become vital as they mature, but Australia sits on the top of the world and will benefit from whatever we do globally.”
Homschek was unavailable to comment at the time of publication because he is currently in the US.
