Ice cream franchise, Cold Rock, has thrown its weight behind marriage equality, signing up as a key sponsor for the Ice Cream Truck of Love tour.
Fronted by marketing consultant Adrian Fernand, the truck will drive around the country handing out free ice cream and raising awareness of marriage equality.
“We’ve invented the Ice Cream Truck of Love, working its way around the eatern seaboard and then around the country. Our truck will give out ice cream and spread the good cheer concerning marriage equality,” Fernand said.
Cold Rock CEO Stan Gordon says the franchise is thrilled to support the cause, agreeing to a $5,000 naming rights sponsoship and also donating ice cream and serving materials.
“We’re pro all flavours here at Cold Rock – especially the right for everyone to enjoy ice cream. As our fans will tell you, you can smash our ice cream with fruits and confectionary any way you like,” he says.
The Ice Cream Truck of Love has over 100 volunteers for the eastern seaboard tour, all they’re waiting on now is a truck that can last the distance.
“Public support for the Ice Cream Truck of Love has been incredible, but we’re overwhelmed by the generous sponsorship from Cold Rock. It’s wonderful that a family brand can get behind a cause that’s about equality and spreading a message of love for all,” said Fernand.
The tour is due to start in June, and donations can be made at www.icecreamtruckoflove.com.
“Your donation, no matter how big or enormous, will see that Australians get what they truly deserve: free ice cream and the ability to marry the person they love, no matter which flavour.”
